My Favorite Locations for Photo Shoots
People often ask me where my favorite places are for photo shoots so I thought I’d start sharing them here.
The first place I’ll give a shout out to is Varsity Lake at CU. It’s more like a pond as it’s small but it is officially called a lake. It is one of my very favorites because you get lots of mini locations all in one. I usually start at the pond and then walk my clients around an area about one block in size. In that one block area there are at least 10 scenic spots that are all great for photos.
The area includes nature such as the pond itself with old university architecture, trees, and yellow irises in the early summer, a beautiful bridge in the background and koi fish, ducks and turtles that the kids love (and maybe your dogs will love them too). There are two huge lawns of grass of the most amazing greens with evergreens in the background. Then there is Old Main which has 3 winding, iron stair cases on one side and a gorgeous door on the other. In two areas we have picturescque staircases, one with large columns and another with arches. Oh, then there is an old concrete sculptured bench that I i’ve used for well over 20 years. Keep looking and walking and you’ll find other hidden treasures. The evening light here is amazing and the area is a great photo op during every season of the year.
It is located on University Ave. and 15th Street. Hit me up if you are need of pretty much any type of professional photos. At this location I’ve done families, couples, kids, head shots, and pets. If you’ve never been here before and are so inclined, check it out. It’s a wonderful place for a walk with your dogs and/or kids - they will all love it too.
